Wisconsin Party Permit Tags 1957-1960, 1963 -1979
Party Permit Tags are a unique part of Wisconsin's history. They were issued to a party of four hunters who would apply for one party permit. A party permit consisted of the paper permit which had the four hunters names on it, an armband, and the tag. The party permit tag could be used to tag either a buck or doe but only one of the four hunters could shoot it and that hunter had to be wearing the armband. Once the deer was harvested it typically served the purpose for which the party permit was created; to feed the hunters at the camp while they were out trying to fill their other tags.
